Tim Hall (Seascapes)

I have been a painter all my life coming from a painting family and I have worked mainly in portraiture and Seascapes.

Recently my drive or passion has been to capture a beautiful summer’s day to be remembered and a pivotal painting which
has had a big influence on this idea is Georges Seurat’s Bathers at Asnieres. Many of the impressions depicted similar scenes
with wonderfully uplifting colours, warm shadows and dappled light.
My seascapes give me a great opportunity to find this intention through the activities of people on boats in the harbour or sailing.
This is a great theme for me because it presents a fabulous range of techniques and levels of focus that really test my abilities as a painter.
Albert Julius Olsen & Joseph Turner are two examples of artists that have inspired me to look closely at capturing water & Edward Seago for skies.
