Lynne was born in 1964 in Wellington, New Zealand, where her family had emigrated, before returning to the UK and settling in Cornwall.
Lynne’s earliest memories are of Cornwall and of wanting to be an artist.
She did her foundation course at Falmouth Art College and degree course in Cardiff, attaining a BA in Fine Art in 1987. One of her figurative paintings was selected for the Whitworth Young Contemporaries.
Lynne still lives in Wales and was elected a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy of the Arts in 2017.
She visits Cornwall often, where she still has strong links. She regularly visits the village where she grew up, walking and sketching, inspired by the light and the sea.
Her paintings are in the still life tradition. Views of the sea through windows, often inspired by Cornish views, also appear intuitively in combination with flowers and still life.
